Pizza Dough rolled out to a square as good as you can. These are pizzas so really anything goes on here. Use ingredients you like. We skipped out on pizza sauce today as we wanted to use lots of fresh tomatoes with herbs instead. My family loves pizza rolls, great for school lunches also. I places sliced tomatoes out diced mushrooms black sliced olives sprinkled garlic powder, Italian spice, crushed chilis I laid out a bunch green onions, kept long cause were going to cut into rolls anyway cut salamiTop with cheese or your choice. We used a grated marble today.
Roll up, and cut into about 1inch discs. I spray a glass casserole dish or a couple cast iron pans. Place rolls in. I top with some more marble and parmesan. Cover and let rise for 30-40minutesBake 425F for about 25minutes. I hope you enjoy these as much as our family does.
Aka shrimp egg rolls. Cleaning out the fridge today! I like working with egg roll wrappers, you can fill those with literally anything. 1 pack egg roll wrappers 2CUPS cabbage (green or red) 1diced white onion 1/2CUP each sliced green onions, celery, water chestnuts, mushrooms, & carrots 10-15 prawns 2TBSP each of minced garlic and ginger 1TBSP white sugar (I used cane sugar) 1TSP each soya sauce, hoisin, and oyster sauce Thai Chilis optional as always I make a glue in a small bowl with some flour and water to use to hold the wrappers together. My owl is ready to get cooking LOL
Get some Vegetable oil, in your pan and turn up the heat if using cane sugar put in now as well. While that’s getting hot, I finely chop up all the shrimps.
Fry high heat, all the Vegetables just for about 3-4 minutes. Then add in shrimps, mix, add in soya sauce, oyster, & hoisin sauce, add your white sugar now if using that. Cook just another minute til shrimp are done. Remove from heat. Let cool.
I like to lay a bunch out on a silicone sheet, glue all around the edges with my fingers. I put roughly 2TBSP of filling in the centre of each wrap. I bring up two corners together, then the other two corners. Then run your fingers down seams to seal them. Something a little different then just a regular egg roll!
I deep fry 375F about 3 minutes per side. I put seam side down in oil first. Then flip fry the other side.
When done frying lay out on a paper towel to remove excess oil. These are great!Love our Lodge Wok!
I had wanted a fry cutter for years. Tim bought me one for Christmas 2018. We finally tried it out. We don’t eat fries much around here. We do like potatoes but fries aren’t our favorite. Some people love fries though. Minimal ingredients, cheap, and cook up fast. Anyone else make homemade fries at home? Or does most just buy frozen? Do you prefer to peel the potatoes. We like skins on. I also prefer to make them with red skin potatoes. But Russets are good too. In this recipe, my potatoes were small which results in smaller fries. Clean potatoes, peel if you want Cut with knife or use a fry cutter Pat dry, removing all excess water on potatoes I like to use a heavy set cast iron pan. If you have deep fryer. Deep fry as per instructions. Deep fry in pan, oil should be 300-330F. We’re going to deep fry each batch twice! I deep fry all batches, for about 6-7minutes each and put them on paper towel. Just til potatoes are starting to soften and blister. Then turn the oil up til you reach 400F, deep fry each batch for 4-6 minutes til fries are crisp and golden.Lay out on paper towel in batches. Sea salt it good sprinkled on them. My family prefers seasoning salt. One for the kids and one for us :0)This is a nice colander. Works well for us!
Aka Strawberry Jam & Biscuits 2CUPS all purpose flour 1TBSP baking powder 1TBSP granulated sugar 1TSP salt 6TBSP butter or margarine, cold 3/4 cup whole milk is best but any works 3/4CUP Strawberry jamPreheat oven to 425F and spray muffin pan. This can be done on just a regular cookie pan which is what I used to use before I had this dish! Either pans work Set aside. Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a bowl and mix well. Set aside.I cut the cold butter/margarine up in cubes and mix in until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk, stir until combined (shouldn’t over work the dough)
I like to take the dough and divide it all up roughly into 24 balls/pieces I smooch 1 piece of dough all around pan making a little well in the middle. Using a muffin pan it will resemble more of a tart look at the bottom of pan. I put 1- 1 1/2TBSP of Strawberry jam in each pillow. Then cover each pillow with remaining of dough smooching down all around the edges to slightly bring the two doughs together.
Bake at 425F for about 12 minutes or until tops are beginning to brown.
I remove from pan right away. You can also brush these with butter when they come out but we find its not needed.Love this pan! We use it so much!
2 1/4CUPS all purpose flour 1CUP granulated sugar 1/2TSP kosher salt 1CUP butter or margarine, room temperature 1 egg 1/2TSP vanilla extract 1/3CUP each strawberry & raspberry jam mixed togetherPreheat oven to 350°F. Coat a 9×9 pan with nonstick spray. Set aside. I was making it extra special for Tim today hehe so I molded the dough into a heart shape on my cast iron pizza pan. In a large bowl mix together flour, sugar, and salt. Add in the egg, butter, and vanilla combine, I use my hands until the dough comes together.
Divide the dough in half and press one half into the bottom of the prepared pan. Spread the raspberry strawberry jam on top.
You can crumble the remaining dough onto of the jam or use small cookie cutters and make shapes with the dough like I did. I love cooking with my cast iron pans!
Bake for 40 minutes until lightly browned. Allow to cool completely
I wanted to make sure the heart stayed in its shape. So I put foil all around it when it cooked. I don’t think it was needed though.
Once cooked they should be able to be taken out of pan quite easily. Made it extra special for my hubby and made a T (for his name Tim haha), he loved it! Great recipe.Love our cornbread pan!Love this cast iron pizza pan! It’s a beast and it gets used for a ton of things!
