Everyone loves my homemade soup. I find these pretty simple, usually staple ingredients. My family loves my chicken and dumplings soup. I don’t always do them this way. But we do prefer them like this better! 2CUPS all purpose flour 1/2TSP baking powder 1TSP parley 2TBSP cold salted butter/maragine, cubed 1CUP milk In a bowl, combine flour, parsley and baking powder. Then add in cubed butter/maragine. I use my fingers to work in, or you can use fork or pastry cutter. Pour in the milk. Mix it all together. Put generous amount of flour on counter. Place dumpling dough on the counter and dust it with more flour. With a rolling pin, roll the dough out to about 1/4″ thickness. Using a knife or a pizza cutter, start cutting out your dumplings into strips, then squares. Dust dumplings with a bit more flour. The extra flour will help keep them from sticking but will also thicken your soup. Bring your soup to light boil. Throw them all in, cover. Cook for 20-25minutes covered. They fluff up nicely and tastes great! We were feeling like soup today. We made 2. Chicken & Rice. Chicken & DumplingsI reserved a little dough and brushed some herbed butter on-top and baked some to dip in the soups The dumplings are so good! How do you make your dumplings?
My kids love these McCormick candied marshmallows! I wanted to figure out how to do them at home. I think I came pretty darn close, the kids were amazed! Mini marshmallows Icing sugar Water Food color flavoured extract oil Dehydrator Make an icing with icing sugar and water. Not to thin but not to thick either. Depending on how many flavours your making you’ll need that many bowls. I just used soup bowls with about 1/2-3/4CUP of icing in each. Add a drop or two of food coloring to each one. I tried to match colors with their flavours. Add couple drops of your extract flavour in each Get all your dehydrating trays out. I used dehydrating sheets and all my 6 trays. Now take your marshmallows and start dunking them in icing, I use a fork for this. I had only did about 4-6 mini marshmallows at once. Use fork to lift them out making sure all excess icing falls off, back into bowl. Lay them out on your lined trays. They shouldn’t have a thick coating on them. Just a nice coating of icing over the marshmallows. I do each bowl/flavour at a time then move to the next. Dehydrate 125 for about 8 hours. Depending on your dehydrator. Let cool before eating. The icing should be nice and firm on outside but chewy, and still a soften marshmallow inside. These are the brand of flavouring I used. I bought from the bulk Barn in Canada. These tastes excellent and you don’t need much!Love our dehydrator. It’s half the price compared to the leading brands!
I had some left over Pizza dough I wanted to use up. My red bowl has: Melted Butter Garlic chopped Jalapenos finely chopped Onions finely chopped Italian spice Rosemary Crushed chilis ParmesanRoll out the dough. I made it into a rectangle. Roll it up like a cinnamon bun. And cut in 3/4″ pieces. I take each rolled piece and put in my hand and make a ball with it. I spray a cast iron skillet with non stick spray and start throwing the circles of herbed Dough around skillet. They don’t necessarily need to be touching. As they are going to rise again and get bigger.
Once all dough is in skillet. Cover with a dish towel and let rise til doubled. Bake 400F about 20 minutes. Til fluffed and nicely browned. Great with pastas, soups, or to dip into dips. Or to just eat as it. Enjoy
