These were so loved. Turned out great! 2CUPS all-purpose flour 1TBSP sugar 2TSP baking powder 1/2TSP baking soda 1/2TSP salt 4TBSP unsalted crisco or butter, cold, cut into small pieces (I prefer crisco) 1/2CUP grated jalapeno harvarti 3/4CUP buttermilk regular milk is fine 18 miniature hot dogs, Smokies or big hotdogs cut in 1/3rds.Preheat oven to 400ºF. Grease a large baking sheet or I use a silicone sheet. Sift the dry ingredients into a bowl. Put the butter/margarine pieces into the dry ingredients until mixture is crumbly. Stir in cheese until evenly distributed. Make a well in the dry ingredients and add the buttermilk/milk. Stir well into a nice ball. Sprinkle the dough with flour and then turn out onto a well floured counter With floured hands, pat the dough, I take a floured rolling pin roll out. Roll, then fold in half, roll out, fold other way, roll again. I keep repeating this over and over flipping in half and rolling. It makes for a very flakey layered crust. I rolled out a large square. Cut in half then cut triangles out of each rectangular piece you have. One at a time, roll up the sausages in the triangles. Pinch the end piece in bottom and cook that side down. I do a yolk wash on them and add some white & black sesame seedsBake for 12 to 13 minutes, until golden brown. Serve with some mustard, ketchup & relishThis was one of the snacks I prepared for Christmas Eve. These freeze well.
Turkey carcass Left over veggies Veggie scraps 1 carrot cut, 1 onion cut, 1 cut celery Bay leafs, thyme, rosemary, sage, salt & pepper. Garlic Fill with water. Boil couple hours.Drain! I forgot to take after picture. This will have a nice color, flavour, you should get about 6-8 cups. Pour in bowl, put in fridge overnight. All the fat will come to the top. Now some scrape this off and throw that out. Well that’s awesome stuff and can replace oil in recipes. I put in container, store in fridge and or freezer. I also freeze the stock in 1 1/2CUP portions. Til the day I get up the courage to use my pressure canner so I can bottle it! Do you cook up your turkey carcasses? We have the PC Choice brand but this one is just the same.
My kids love potatoes chips! I haven’t met too many people, who don’t. Vegetable chips are great, and tastes awesome. I little bit of work but for us, it’s worth it. I don’t like to use the shield that comes with the mandolin so hubby makes me wear my no cut gloves lol they are great though. It was a nice purchase!
Slice up the potatoes I do one kind at a time. Try to pat potatoes dry as much as possible.Deep fry til curled, golden brown and crisp. Thy take a bit and longer then you would think. The sweet potatoes take even longer to cookWe like things spicy. You can just eat them as they are. Or just add salt. Or a herbed, garlic, onion thing. Or whatever your favorite spices happen to be. I made up a spice with some paprika, cayenne, & garlic salt. Do you make homemade potato chips? What do you like to put on them? Do you have favorite dip to make?
